FEATURED PRODUCT AND PRIZE: WATERMELON KITCHEN SCRUBBER

If things go horribly wrong in your attempts to make last week’s watermelon steak, you can clean up the mess with this month’s featured product and prize, the watermelon kitchen scrubber. It’s made from natural loofah, which is harvested by from ancient loofah trees found only in the northern mountainous region of China. Amazon.com claims that this little wonder “will make your kids actually want to help you do the dishes!” I doubt that’s true, but for $4.99 it’s worth a shot, right?

I’ll send two of these miracle workers to one commenter chosen at random from all the comments left on What About Watermelon this month. Good luck!

I just bought my first domestic watermelon of the season in my local supermarket. Seeded weighing in at around 15 pounds. i used the IPhone App “Watermelon Deluxe” got the message  ”This watermelon is amazing, after I followed the instructions and thumped the watermelon three times while my IPhone was gauging to acoustics. Ok, now to see if this thing really worked.  I cut the watermelon open. It was the best watermelon I have eaten in a long time. Excellent color, flavor, and texture!  it was so juicy and delicious that I could have used the scrubber for my kitchen countertop.

A watermelon iPhone app? How is it possible that I have not heard of that? And I have an iPhone, too! (And lots of friends who know I love watermelon.) I’ll definitely be checking that app out and giving it a full review in an upcoming entry here on What About Watermelon.

I’m jealous that you have a watermelon patch, Adrian! I’ve always wanted to grow my own watermelons (and not just one small one that I started on the windowsill of my apartment).

Please send me pictures of your watermelons as they grow throughout the season — from the first signs of tiny watermelon buds to the big Carolina Crosses right before harvest — and I’ll post them here on What About Watermelon!

This watermelon kitchen scrubber is so useful and cute. Don’t think my kid would be influenced by this cute kitchen scrubber. But it sure would come in handy for me in the kitchen.

I’m trying to grow watermelons for the first time this year. My kids are grown & my dogs won’t do the dishes, so it would be all mine if I was the lucky winner. hehe
