JUNE PRIZE: THE WATERMELON CHARM

I’m always losing my keys, and I’m not just talking about misplacing my keys. I have literally LOST my keys on more than one occasion. It’s a lot like losing your wallet, only instead of freaking out that someone is maxing out your credit card while you scramble to cancel it, you freak out because you can’t drive your car or get into your house.

Which brings me to this month’s prize. Watermelon is the key to my heart, and now watermelon can hold the keys to your home for just one comment. That’s right. This beautiful sterling silver charm can be yours for just a few words. TWO lucky winners chosen at random will have the most charming keys on the block.

    Ooh, I want it!

  2. Kim Myers says:

I collect key chains and I love this one because it combines two of my favorite things: watermelon and sterling silver.

I believe that losing your house keys is worse than losing your wallet because your peace of mind, personal safety, and the sanctuary of your home is jeopardized until you can change the locks. You can always cancel the cards and replace the ID and money in your wallet. But you can never replace the lives of your family or their peace of mind if someone finds your house keys and comes into your home and harms them. Losing the car keys is also horrible, but they are easier to replace and I always have extras around, because I have locked myself out of the car on more than one occasion.

A customer at our shop told us about your website. I think it’s fantastic! We are watermelon fanatics too. In fact, we’ve got a whole shop dedicated to it. We’ve been online for about 3 years and just three weeks ago we opened a brick and mortar store called….
The Watermelon Shop. How can I send you a photo? We’ve got a crazy 3D huge watermelon sign. I’d venture to guess it’s probably the biggest watermelon sign in the whole world… well we like to think so anyway. We’re in Luling, Texas. And.. we’ve got a seed spitting contest if you feel like venturing from PA to Texas, you can participate!

    Warm Regards,
    Ginger and Kelly
    The Watermelon Shop

Good point, Kim. Hard to argue with that!

Ginger – A shop dedicated to watermelon?! Wow! No surprise that it’s in Luling, which is home to one of the greatest watermelon festivals around. Please send pictures to me at watermelonexperts@gmail.com. I’ll also email you with the same info. Looking forward to seeing the pictures. I’ll post them here on What About Watermelon!

  5. Dotty Woodard says:

Well, I don’t have anything as grand as a Watermelon Shop, but
my kitchen is ‘done’ in watermelons! Does that qualify as being a watermelon-lover?

Oh Yes! And my dearest friend is a watermelon broker. She is the gal that sends out the huge truck loads of melons all over the US.

And living here in Florida, we have the first (and best!) melons
to leave the fields, coming to a market near you! Our fridge is never melon-free!

Thanks to all the Watermelon Lovers out there!
    Hugs,
    Dotty
