AUGUST PRIZE: WATERMELON PAJAMA PANTS

Ever since my failed attempt last month to find a pair of watermelon shoes, I’ve been on a watermelon-themed clothing kick. I currently own exactly zero watermelon-themed articles of clothing (unless you count a barbecue apron stained by watermelon juice), but at the rate I’m going, that might change.

My latest search lead me to these cool watermelon pajama pants. Technically they’re called “women’s pajama pants,” but I don’t see any reason why a man couldn’t wear these pants. Is there some unwritten rule that says women are the only ones allowed to wear clothes with miniature watermelon slices on them? I don’t think so. If it’s okay for me to wear Spiderman pajama pants (debatable, I know), why can’t I wear these?

Oh well. Instead of buying a pair for myself, I’ll let this serve as an official hint for any family or friends who might need some inspiration when searching for a gift for me in the future. In the meantime, I’ve purchased one pair of these sweet PJ’s to give away to one comment chosen at random from all the comments left here on What About Watermelon this month. Good luck!

Those would be cool to have! I wear a size XS.
Last year Gymboree made a whole line of watermelon themed clothes & hair accessories called “Watermelon Picnic” for little girls, my daughter has most of it. There’s a red dress with little black seeds & green rind on the bottom & it’s really cute.

That shirt is great, Steve! I love vintage t-shirts like that. As for the Watermelon Picnic clothes Marnie mentioned, it’s proof that watermelon is as fun to wear as it is to eat. And usually, the way I eat watermelon, I usually end up wearing it by the time I’m done.

When is your baby due? If it’s a girl I’m sure you can find her a lot of Watermelon Picnic outfits on Ebay.

  4. The Watermelon Guy says:

The baby is due at the end of August. We still don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl, but either way there’s a good chance he or she will be wearing watermelon colors at some point!

  5. Megan C says:

Too cute! My daughter’s 2nd birthday party was watermelon themed; complete with watermelon plates and napkins and a cake decorated as a giant watermelon slice!

  6. Christina Fonseca says:

I love watermelon accesories! I have a watermelon-theme kitchen plus a welcome flag. I love watermelons so much I wore my watermelon apron and took my watermelon purse to a watermelon festival.

    Love those jammies!

I love these pants :) They bring back wonderful watermelon memories of times with family, friends, and watermelon.

  8. Pam C says:

Each year I welcome my students back with a watermelon themed party. The day is devoted to all things watermelon-wouldn’t this be fun to sport on our special day!

  9. Leslie M says:

These watermelon pants are my style exactly. I am obsessed with all things watermelon and fun, whimsical prints. :) Perfect for college kids like me who love loungewear for those crazy-early 8:30 classes.
