This month’s prize – the Oster 8-speed 6-cup blender – is appropriate for this blog for two reasons. The first is that its color is listed as “watermelon.” The second reason is that your watermelon-colored blender can be used to create tasty watermelon smoothies as we head into the warmer summer months.
Truth be told, ever since the “Fork Incident of 2007” I haven’t been that comfortable around blenders. I can use them, but just like a horse, blenders can sense fear. And once they do, they never act exactly the way you want them to.
I really should get over my nervousness, because there are lots of good uses for a blender and I’m only punishing myself by not getting back on the saddle.
I’ll choose one comment at random from all the comments left on the blog this month to receive this blender. According to Amazon.com, it packs 450 watts of power, which allows you to puree all sorts of stuff, “from frozen beverages to dips, from sauces to smoothies, from soup to nuts.”
I’ll bet it doesn’t puree stainless steel forks. I know my last blender couldn’t.

A watermelon blender would be a nice addition to our kitchen aresenal. If you cube and freeze your watermelon before blending you do not need as much ice and it makes a more flavorful smoothie.
Cute blender..perfect for watermelon daiquiris!
Watermelon smoothie sounds yummy to me. Made with the “Watermelon colored Blender by Oster” is even better. Sorry I missed it but what is the “Fork Incident of 2007″?
I would make my famous summer watermelon martinis with this blender. Just ice cold watermelon, vodka and a little ice. Delicious!
I too have had a blender experience, except mine was with a wooden spoon and a classroom demonstration. Don’t want to go back there!! I have a very inexpensive blender, i use to puree soups and things. But, I would like to learn to love a blender again and what better way than with a watermelon blender. I can taste a watermelon smoothie already…..yum-o!!
This is awesome! You must share your “fork incident”! I’m very intrigued. I could definitely use a new blender. I’ve had mine for ten years and if you don’t seat the pitcher just right on the base it makes this horrible, scary sound! I think my blender senses fear, too, but I usually can fake bravery long enough to get the job done–and then I make my husband clean the blender and put it away.

This would be great for my homeschoolers ! My kiddos have planted watermelons this year. We hope that they grow!!!!! We can’t wait to eat them! This blender would be great for my kiddos to make yummy drinks.
I have been without a blender for the last two years. Not having a job, has made it hard to have the extra money to get those lil things that make some of the best treats. Would truly appreciate the change to win a blender so that I could give my kids those simple treats as a watermelon smoothie to perk up their day.
I really love the watermelon color..more kitchen items should have this color.
I NEED ONE OF THESE TO MAKE MY HEALTHY DRINKS..I LOVE OSTER PRODUCTSS..I LOVE WATERMELON AND THE COLOR OF WATERMELON..I’LL BE SOOO EXCITED TO WIN THIS..THANK YOU FOR THE CHANCE TO ENTER…
Very cool! I think I would paint seeds on it
I blown through a few blenders making margaritas. This one looks like it’s up for the challenge! I want to hear about the fork incident too.
I must admit, how does a fork and blender become and incident in 2007? It must have been rather dramatic to continue to instill such fear. Love the name of the color of the blender. And I would love to taste what the picture you show is ready to blend! I do think I would add a bit of yogurt and naturally, some watermelon!
We have Utley Acres and it is a life-long dream of ours. My hubby and I are retired school teachers and this year is our first attempt to raise a watermelon crop for sale, but we have been growing many in our garden and supplying our friends and family for 38 years. We are very excited about our new adventure and a watermelon blender would be just soooo sweet. We certainly cannot afford to buy one this year with all the start-up. I know whoever wins it will have to be thrilled! It is beautiful! (My hubby eats a watermelon a day in the summer)LOL
If I win the blender, I’ll try Jim Long’s suggestion above. Thanks!
Last week my little girls and I were at the market and spotted our first watermelon of the season, we were so excited to rush home and make watermelon sherbet! I hurried up and threw everything in the blender and a big chunk got stuck and not thinking I jabbed a butter knife in the blender needless to say sherbet went everywhere along with the butter knife and the entire side of our blender cracked! I would love this blender to make yummy watermelon treats for my family all year long!
I’m loving the color! It would be great to have a new blender for my smoothies that I make everyday!
That is so super cute. It would be nice to have my own blender and not have to worry about taking the blender back and forth to my moms when I have girls night.
We just enjoyed our first watermelon of the season! A delicious mini seedless. YUM! We’d love to try out some recipes with this blender too!
I love watermelon but I have such a hard time picking out a good one. I’m ready to eat watermelon now, but my husband keeps telling me it’s to early, they won’t be any good yet. I bet if I had that blender, I could make really yummy things, even this early in the season.
So, I came across this wonderful blog looking for a watermelon basket design for my best girls wedding in June. Being from Georgia its so hard to find really good homegrown watermelon except at farmers markets. So my challenge will be to pick a nice sweet watermelon and get it carved beautifully for this special occasion. I could use this pretty watermelon colored blender to make those special frozen treats for her bachelorette party and even help me make the spreads for the hors d’ oeuvres for the reception.
I will use all 450 watts in this blender to whip up 450 watemelicious treats…yogurt, watermelon smoothies, watermelon icecream, watermelon salsa…yummy treats made of this yummy fruit! Pick me!!
Hopefully I can use this blender to mix up all sorts of fruity, watermelon treats this summer! I work at a lab where we study watermelon, and my favorite part of the job is bringing it home!
How fortuitous I stumbled upon this website while looking for unique creative watermelon recipes. What a lovely color blender. I am sure it would help me in my watermelon dish-making…
I was eating a watermelon when I found this site. I have to admit that deep fried watermelon recipe definitely sounds interesting. I think I might have to try it!
I was looking for information about watermelons to use during the lase two weeks of school which brought me to your site. The blender looks sturdy and fun. The last blender I had died in a cheescake making fiasco. Watermelon is one of my favorite foods especially in the spring and summertime. Nothing beats a cool slice of watermelon. Yum!
