JANUARY PRIZE: WATERMELON SOCKS!

My wife is always making fun of me for my holey socks. Please note that I’m referring to holey socks (socks with holes in the toes and heels) and not holy socks (socks that have some sort of religious significance).

She asks me why I don’t just break down and buy new socks, and my answer is always the same: Because my holey socks fit my feet so well. They’re like a good pair of blue jeans. If I got new socks, I’d have to spend all kinds of time figuring out which ones are right foot socks and which are left foot socks. And then I’d have to break them in. It’s a whole process with my feet, and I’d rather not go into details.

Ninety-nine percent of my socks are either plain black or plain white, but I sure wouldn’t mind adding this month’s colorful prize – watermelon socks – to my collection.

Yeah, they’re pink and probably a better option for my wife than for me, but I’d give them a whirl around the house. At least until I broke them in and could wear them to more formal outside-the-home occasions.

I’ll choose one comment at random from all the comments left on the blog this month to receive these foot-warmers. Good luck!

  • My grandmother used to always give me new socks, because my socks always had holes in the heels. Once she even wrote me a poem about my socks. (I must see if I can find the poem). I hadn’t thought about the poem in years. These watermelons socks are too cute!!

  • OMG! These are just adorable! Perfect for parading through the watermelon patch! Thank you for the opportunity to win these as 99% of my socks are NOT black or white but themed! I always wear crazy socks as it makes me smile and remember to have fun!

  • Cool socks, I honesly do not have anything like that but they would be cool to wear. I do have two left feet however if they will fit?

  • Very nice looking socks. I like the color pink so these socks would be a welcome addition to my sock drawer since I don’t have anything like them at present.
As for you, break out of the black and white rut, ask for another pair from the prize contributor for yourself.

  • Love, love, love these socks!!!!! They will help me stay warm and thing of a cool refresher when the snow is falling!!
