What About Watermelon?\">\n<div class=\"download-master-button-content\"><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">You\u2019d think a man who has smashed \u201cover 100,000 pounds of watermelon\u201d in his lifetime using a giant wooden mallet would be an enemy of mine \u2013 after all, I am The Watermelon Guy \u2013 but I\u2019m not one to harbor a grudge.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Of course, I\u2019m talking about Gallagher, the comedian who made it big in the 70s and 80s with an act that combined jokes with pulverizing various fruits and vegetables using his trademark \u201cSledge-o-Matic\u201d hammer. Of all the food items he punished, watermelon was definitely his favorite. Maybe because it was so big. Maybe because it was so affordable. Or maybe because it made a huge mess when it exploded all over the first five rows of the audience.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever the reason, I\u2019m proud to call myself a Gallagher fan. Yes, he\u2019s destroyed thousands of watermelons over the past four decades, but he\u2019s also done a lot to help promote watermelon.
