After all, people give away oranges and apples to trick-or-treaters \u2013 or at least they used to \u2013 and watermelon makes just as a nice snack. Besides, fresh watermelon has been referred to as \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jumpwithjill.com\/natures-candy-dance-party\/\">nature\u2019s candy<\/a>,\u201d so it should fit right in as a Halloween treat, right?<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s what I thought, at least.<\/p>\n<p>My wife wisely talked me out of the plan, and steered me toward a more sensible option: watermelon-flavored candy. Turns out, it\u2019s not \u2026 and that\u2019s good. In saying this, I really couldn&#8217;t exclude hard candies from my list.
