Earlier this month, I revealed an amazing story<\/a> about some scientists and botanists in California who had figured out how to grow watermelon with interiors in just about any color you can imagine. Pretty cool, right? I mean, who wouldn\u2019t want to chow down on a red, white and blue watermelon on July 4th?<\/p>\n

Well, I have a small confession to make. The entire story was an April Fool\u2019s joke cooked up by yours truly. Truth be told, I\u2019m not much of a prankster, but I\u2019m a little impressed by how deftly I was able to pull off the story of the rainbow watermelons. I thought for sure someone would see right though my tall tale and expose the hoax, but no one did.<\/p>\n

Hopefully no one is too disappointed that multicolored watermelons won\u2019t be coming to a grocery store near you any time soon, but it was all in good fun. I have to admit, even I\u2019m a little disappointed that it\u2019s not a real story!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
