I tried to make it believable with reports about Tasmania\u2019s wet climate (which is true) and the power of kangaroo manure as a fertilizer (which might be true), but anyone who knows that region\u2019s weather will tell you that the relatively cool Tasmanian summers aren\u2019t enough to produce record-breaking watermelons.<\/p>\n<p>The fact that there are no 847-pound watermelons growing in Tasmania is good news for Lloyd Bright, who owns the current \u201cworld\u2019s largest watermelon\u201d record with a 268-pound beauty harvested in 2005 (that\u2019s it below).
