Based on that, I\u2019m assuming \u201ca la mode\u201d is French for \u201cawesome\u201d or \u201cdelicious.\u201d Or \u201cawesomely delicious.\u201d Yeah, I\u2019m pretty sure that\u2019s it.<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s recipe is Watermelon Pie A La Mode (or \u201cAwesomely Delicious Watermelon Pie\u201d), and it\u2019s basically a wedge of watermelon cut to look like a slice of pie and served with a scoop of ice cream or frozen yogurt. The recipe below calls for vanilla frozen yogurt, but according to the official \u201ca la mode\u201d rules, you should feel free to use whatever flavor of ice cream or frozen yogurt you\u2019d like.<\/p>\n<p>I couldn\u2019t find a good picture of the pie (you can see a small picture if you click on the recipe name below), so I drew my own picture. As always, please refrain from wisecracks about my third-grade art skills.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/www.watermelon.org\/Recipes\/Watermelon-Pie-A-La-Mode-94.aspx\">Watermelon Pie A La Mode<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whataboutwatermelon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/PittColor1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1725\" title=\"PittColor\" src=\"https:\/\/www.whataboutwatermelon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/PittColor1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"332\" height=\"350\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>6 slices (1\/2 inch thick) pie-wedge shaped slices of pound cake<br \/>\n6 wedges (3 inch thick) wedges of seedless watermelon the same size as the cake slices<br \/>\n6 scoops vanilla flavored frozen yogurt<br \/>\n1 cup strawberry syrup<\/p>\n<p><strong>DIRECTIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Place the cake slices on 6 dessert plates. Top each cake slice with a watermelon slice.
