But these won\u2019t be the usual Thanksgiving recipes. The recipes I\u2019ll be posting are designed to help you out of various Thanksgiving dilemmas \u2013 like this one.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>THE DILEMMA:<\/strong> You\u2019ve been asked to bring a dessert to the family\u2019s Thanksgiving gathering, but you forgot about it until the last minute. (Actually, you didn\u2019t forget, you just figured culinary inspiration would strike in the days before the holiday and it never did.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE SOLUTION:<\/strong> Quick Watermelon Shortbread Cookie Crumble<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHY IT WORKS:<\/strong> It\u2019s quick, it\u2019s delicious, and it looks good on a plate. Did I mention that it\u2019s also quick?<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE RECIPE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>4 cups crumbled shortbread cookies<\/li>\n<li>4 cups small pieces of seedless watermelon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>INSTRUCTIONS: <\/strong>Place half of the crumbled cookies on the bottom of a deep 9 x 13 dish and flatten into an even layer. Spoon the watermelon over that in an even layer. Sprinkle the remaining cookies over the top.
