I\u2019m a fan of the peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Have been ever since I was three-and-a-half years old. It was the first sandwich I learned how to make on my own, and I look forward to passing my PBJ talents along to my own daughter.<\/p>\n
Still, I was cautiously excited when I read online about the PBW sandwich, which replaces the jelly with a slice of cold watermelon. So I tried it, and it was surprisingly good! The watermelon gives the sandwich a little more texture and provides just the right amount of juiciness to offset the thickness of the peanut butter. If you\u2019re feeling adventurous, I definitely recommend it, but as I note below, be sure to place peanut butter on BOTH pieces of bread to prevent the watermelon from turning the sandwich into a soggy mess.<\/p>\n

INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n DIRECTIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n Remove bread from bag. To reseal the bag, discard the twisty tie thing and use the \u201ctwist and tuck under\u201d tactic. I think we can all agree that\u2019s a much easier method.<\/p>\n Spread peanut butter on both slices of bread to prevent the watermelon from making the bread soggy. Place one watermelon slice (rind removed), a quarter to half an inch thick, between the two slices of bread. (IMPORTANT: Make sure the peanut butter side of the bread is on the INSIDE of the sandwich.
