\"\"<\/span>A few weeks ago, a package addressed to \u201cThe Watermelon Guy\u201d arrived in the mail. I wasn\u2019t expecting a package and had never received one addressed to my watermelon-loving alter ego. I was curious and excited.<\/p>\n

The relatively light weight of the box ruled out the hope that it contained a watermelon, but what was <\/em>inside was, in some ways, even better. What awaited me were two watermelon-themed cutting boards and two watermelon-carving knives. An accompanying letter explained the gift.<\/p>\n

Apparently, a gentleman from Dexas<\/span>, a company that makes all sorts of neat kitchen items (check them out on Facebook<\/a>), was staffing a trade show booth adjacent to my friends at the National Watermelon Promotion Board. They told him about my love of watermelon and he decided to send me two sets of Dexas\u2019 watermelon accessories \u2013 one for me to try out, and one for me to give away here on the blog.<\/p>\n

So that\u2019s exactly what I\u2019m doing. One commenter chosen at random from all the comments left on the blog this month will receive the cutting board<\/span> and knife<\/span> shown above (sorry, watermelon not included). The cutting board measures 17\u00d712 inches and has a hole at the top so you can hang it on the wall. The 11-inch knife has a soft-grip contoured handle and a hard plastic sheath for storage. I\u2019ve used mine already, and let me tell you, it\u2019s pretty amazing.<\/p>\n
