My wife mentioned the other day that we needed a new doormat outside our front door. Ours has worn to the point that the middle part of the world \u201cWELCOME!\u201d has completely disappeared, leaving only \u201cWE\u2026E!\u201d to greet visitors. I guess \u201cWee!\u201d isn\u2019t so bad, though, considering every day in our house is truly an adventure.<\/p>\n
If I had my way, I\u2019d buy the watermelon doormat pictured above. But I don\u2019t have my way, so I\u2019ll have to live vicariously through my readers by giving the doormat away as this month\u2019s prize.<\/p>\n
I believe a doormat should reflect the passions and personality of the people inside the home. A doormat also says a lot about the home\u2019s residents and, as a visitor, those kind of clues are important. For example, the doormat we had before our current \u201cWee!\u201d doormat said \u201cWipe Your Paws.\u201d That tells people that we have a dog that can read.<\/p>\n
A watermelon doormat says to visitors, \u201cHey there! I\u2019m a juicy slice of watermelon! The owners of this home enjoy me and have a zest for life and all the crazy, unpredictable things that come with it! They also have great taste in produce and enjoy refreshing and healthy snacks loaded with vitamin A, vitamin C, and lycopene! By the way, I like your shoes! Are those suede? Go ahead and knock, I\u2019m pretty sure they\u2019re home! Have a great day!\u201d<\/p>\n
