Even though my own \u201cLittle Watermelon\u201d is still three years away from kindergarten, now is a good time to feature a few kid-friendly\/lunchbox-friendly watermelon recipes.<\/p>\n<p>This first recipe is for watermelon kebabs. It\u2019s just watermelon, turkey, and cheese, but it makes a great lunch or after-school snack. Feel free to substitute ham for the turkey or skip the meat entirely. In place of the meat, you can add cucumber or another type of fruit.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>WATERMELON KEBABS<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>18 1-inch cubes of seedless watermelon<br \/>\n6 cubes of smoked turkey breast<br \/>\n6 cubes of cheddar cheese<br \/>\n6 coffee stirrers or beverage straws<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>INSTRUCTIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Place watermelon, turkey and cheese on stirrers or straws.
