The owner of this photo doesn’t know much about it, other than that it was taken in Perry, Oklahoma, some time in the 1890s or early 1900s.
Despite being more than century old, this photo reminds me of my own childhood. Hot summer days. Running around in grubby, bare feet. Chowing down on giant slices of watermelon. I didn’t wear overalls and a floppy straw hat, but the rest of this image is pretty spot on compared to my own upbringing!
