SEPTEMBER PRIZE: THE WATERMELON NECKLACE

In my opinion, every watermelon lover should own at least one piece of watermelon jewelry or clothing. For me, it’s my “watermelon addict” T-shirt. It comes in handy for watermelon festivals, family barbecues and any other event at which watermelon might be served.

If you don’t own something you can wear to prove to the world how much you love watermelon, this month’s prize is for you. It’s a watermelon necklace, and I’ll give it away to one commenter chosen at random from all the comments left on the blog this month.

The website that sells this sparkling ode to fruit describes it as a “gorgeous enameled watermelon slice paved with Swarovski crystals. Yummy!” I can’t verify whether this necklace is indeed “yummy” (I don’t recommend eating it), but it’s definitely an eye-catcher and a conversation-starter.

This watermelon necklace is a true depiction of nature’s treat…delicious and sweet…the watermelon! It is pink and green and glowing with sweetness [the jewels). It can be worn all year demonstrating a watermelon’s versatility as a not just a summer fruit anymore! It is low in calories and sure will prompt others to ask where you got it and how they can get one too…just like they do when they see the juicy watermelon fruit!
