FEATURED CAKE: WHAT SHOULD I WRITE ON IT?

My brain and stomach always get confused when I look at photos of cakes shaped like watermelon. I love cake and I love watermelon, but when I look at watermelon cakes, I’m never quite sure which of the two things to get hungry for.

One is rich and decadent (cake) and the other is sweet and juicy (watermelon). Separately, they’re very different foods, with a delicious sweetness being the only common denominator.

The watermelon cake above looks deliciously sweet, doesn’t it? The cake/watermelon flesh inside is so pink it almost glows. I’m assuming there’s something written on top of the cake, too, but I can’t quite see what it is. My guess is that it says “Happy Birthday, Anne!” or ”Happy Anniversary, Steve and Janice!” Something like that, at least.

If it were my cake, it wouldn’t have any message on it because I’d probably eat it before I had a chance to write the message!
