HEALTHY EATING DOESN’T HAVE TO BE EXPENSIVE

Our daughter recently turned one, which means she’s slowly graduating from baby food to grown-up food. That also means mommy and daddy have to start eating healthier meals that we can share with our finicky toddler.

I’m not all that excited about eating healthier, even though I know I should. I’m also a little concerned that eating healthier will mean higher grocery bills, but that’s not always the case. By choosing simple, cost-effective ingredients (and getting serious about using coupons), feeding a family doesn’t have to be pricey.

Watermelon is a classic example of a healthy, cost-effective food. But don’t take my word for it. In the video below from the National Watermelon Promotion Board’s YouTube channel, Mr. Food explains how to eat healthily and deliciously on a budget.
