The results are in! Below are the first place winners in each of our five 2012 Watermelon Carving Contest categories. The judges at the National Watermelon Promotion Board had the challenging task of determining these victors, each of whom will get a $100 Amazon.com gift card.
More than 30 carvings faced off for the $600 “People’s Choice” grand prize, as determined by your online votes. The winner of that prize is … at the bottom of this blog entry. I have to build a little anticipation, right?

I got a message from “What About Watermelon? : 2012 WATERMELON CARVING CONTEST: AND THE WINNERS”. I was very surprised. I did not expect to be a winner given John Montgomery’s carving was very professional and artistic! Thank you very much to everyone who voted for me.
I also want to say thank you to those people who shared their talents in the 2012 Watermelon Caving Contest. I really enjoyed looking at those pictures and everyone’s talents!
Lets do it again next year…. 🙂
