If cartoons and slapstick comedies are to be taken literally, porcupines are among the most fearsome creatures on the face of the Earth. They’ll shoot you with their poisonous quills just because you looked at them wrong and then laugh while you lie on the ground in agony.
Fortunately, that depiction of porcupines is completely false. They’re not mean-spirited creatures, and it’s not their fault Mother Nature gave them such a bristly exterior. Take the baby porcupine in the video below, for example. Does he look scary while he gnaws intently on that chunk of watermelon? Nah.
In fact, he looks so cuddly and soft, you just want to pick him up and give him a big hug. But don’t, because his porcupine quills will poke you and he’ll get really scared and probably pee on you. Neither of those things are fun.

That is one cute Baby Porcupine. He really like watermelon.
I’ve never seen a baby porcupine in real life, but watching this little guy makes me want one for a pet. That’s probably a bad idea, though.
